Stremmel Artist, John Randall Nelson, embraces the concept of artist as story teller, a chronicler of contemporary culture. His symbolic amalgamations, which often consist of a central image superimposed over a collage of symbols and text (anything from art criticism to nursery rhymes), make intuitive sense of the inundation that we experience in what Nelson sees as our “overcommunicated, how-to world.”Recently, Nelson’s work was installed at the five star Hotel Palomar in Phoenix, AZ. In conjunction with the public/private art project “Patagonia @ The Palomar”, the installation includes 243 “paintings” in the 243 guest rooms.
